Dear fellow concerned parents and community members,
We have a solution!
For those of you who may not be aware, the buck stops with the Board of Trustees in a school district. The School Board of Trustees is the governing body that runs the school district and determines district policy.
If we want to see real change in District 91, we need to elect a new Board of Trustees! This means we need to replace Trustees who are ignoring parents with new Trustees who will listen. It is that simple!
There are seven Trustee positions in our district, we already have four candidates who have committed to run. We want three more.
The Trustee election date is October 15, 2022. Nominations must be in by September 9th, 2022.
If you are one of those parents or community members who have felt frustration with the quality of education your child is receiving or the disregard for parents’ concerns seen in recent years, then now is the time to act! Electing a new school board is the best option we have for real change!
Since this realization, we have been laying the foundation for an effective Trustee campaign. We have joined forces with like-minded parents across the province who have similar concerns and are seeking change. Please visit www.parentsvoicebc.ca for more information.
Currently we are working on developing a campaign platform for our local school district. We want your input! We want to hear your personal concerns and recommendations to improve our public education system in District 91.
If you are interested in learning what other parent’s concerns and solutions are, please contact us. If you are interested in or have questions about running as a School Trustee candidate, please contact us. We have the support and resources you need to be successful. Alternatively, if you just want to help ensure a trustee who shares your views is voted in for your local area, please contact us. We are happy to discuss any questions you may have and give suggestions on how to get involved.
Bottom line is your voice and your child’s education does matter!
I recently heard some profound advice from someone I look up to. If not you…….then who? If not now……..then when?
If you want to be heard and ensure positive change in our districts educational system……..get involved and help make this happen!
Sincerely,
School District 91 Concerned Parents
