Update for Monday March 27th (posted after midnite)

Doozy of a day and tomorrow the sun rises on Mouats and we have a couple of homes on wheels in the parking lot too. 

There is still a potential threat of  bylaw showing up tomorrow so anyone who wants to come have their morning coffee with us, please do. 

While we are making some progress on a community level with more to come, bylaw enforcement comes from Victoria and seems to work independently from what is occurring in our meetings with Karla and Dan. Kajin just received the CRD response to our law letter and they seem to believe that they are doing enough with having camping permitted from 8pm to 8pm. We are working to convince them that packing down a home everyday to carry it around is not the stability that we are hoping for. 

There are many logistics regarding how a safe resting space can be provided in the park with multiple community groups working together. My hope is that we continue to push back in a positive way bringing some humanity and understanding into the picture. Today at Mouats, while gathering signatures and engaging with day time park users on the issue of belonging and finding a safe space to be, we encountered many supportive and enthusiastic folks who are with us in holding CRD to working more collaboratively with the community organizations and advocates that understand the diverse community folks in need of a CalmUnity Campground. 

Today @Molly Murphy  and I met with Karla Campbell at CRD office and she told us that she will be going over things with Dan tomorrow and she will be in touch regarding next steps. I am worried that bylaw will attend Mouats before then so we will be holding it down at the gate again tomorrow morning until we communicate with crd management when the office opens. 

Also, our petition (paper and online combined) is up to over 200 people who believe that putting pressure on the CRD to work more collaboratively with community on the ground!
