This morning’s South African Government Gazette contained Social Development’s notice of intention to introduce the Children’s Amendment Bill, 2019 into the National Assembly and National Council of Provinces during 2019.
To each of the 18 800-plus people who have signed this petition because they believe that every child deserves the protection that parents can provide – thank you!
The Office of the President notified me on Friday that it has received my request to present the petition to President Ramaphosa and to make further submissions on behalf of all parentless children in South Africa.
We must co-ordinate our advocacy to be effective. The best interests of children are entrenched in our Constitution, as are their rights to family life.
We hereby call on all political parties, professional bodies, children’s rights’ groups, faith-based and other organisations to add their voices to ours so that every child can find a place in which to star.
