The New Tetris was one of the first games in the series to make any additions to the classic Tetris formula, implementing the fabled hold mechanic and 4 player multiplayer. The graphics were very impressive for the time, boasting stunning pre-rendered visuals that would react and animate depending on how you played and interacted with the matrix.

Tetrisphere on the other hand, completely reinvented the wheel. It is very loosely based off Tetris with the only similarity being the Tetrominos and the name. If you ask me, I’d consider it better than Tetris… but that’s just personal opinion.
