Firefighters work unsafe hours, use unreliable equipment and vehicles all to help save our community. Firefighters face many struggles while working and using vehicles that don't work isn't going to help. Those that choose to give their time to this profession in order to help their communities can develop many different forms of mental health issues, for example post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.) To help protect our community from the disadvantages and risks that stem from not having a reliable Fire and Emergency service, we advise that firefighters get paid more and get more respected of the commitment of these hard working civilians. In summary, Upper Hutt Rangers suggests that career firefighters receive higher compensation and are supplied with more reliable resources, keeping New Zealanders and their livelihoods safe for the foreseeable future.
