Starting 12/4/2018, South County HS will be having a new and "improved" free period time. It went from what we knew as focus, switching classes every 45 minutes every other day during the block, to advisory & a new type of focus. During the advisory period, we have "star-time" which is 10-15 minutes of reading. We may leave to see teachers after the reading period. During the focus time, we cannot leave to see other teachers whereas in the old focus we could. This change will make it harder for students to retake tests, quizzes, and get extra help from other classes that aren't in that rotation for the day. For athletes and just anybody in general who is unable to go after school, it will make things hard on both teachers and students.
