Help Us Build a Volleyball Future for Aiken

Help Us Build a Volleyball Future for Aiken
The Issue
Over the past few years, volleyball in Aiken has exploded — from recreational leagues and school programs to travel and club teams that are filled with passionate young athletes. Yet despite this incredible growth, Aiken still doesn’t have a dedicated volleyball facility that meets the needs of our community.
As parents, coaches, and supporters of local youth sports, we’ve watched countless players work hard to improve their skills, only to struggle finding consistent gym space. Local teams are forced to compete for limited availability at Odell Weeks and Smith-Hazel, often sharing space with other programs or being turned away during the busiest seasons. Many families even drive to surrounding cities like Augusta, Lexington, or Columbia just to find reliable training opportunities — taking time, money, and resources away from our own hometown.
Aiken deserves better.
A centrally located, full-size volleyball facility would serve as a home for our growing community — a place where local schools, clubs, and recreational players can train, host matches, and grow together. Beyond sports, this investment would strengthen our economy by attracting tournaments and visitors from across South Carolina and Georgia. Aiken’s location makes it a prime hub for regional competition, with easy access from I-20 and nearby metro areas.
This is personal for many of us who have watched our children and players develop a love for the game with limited resources. We believe it’s time to invest in the future of Aiken — in our youth, our families, and our community — by giving volleyball a true home right here in the heart of our city.
Please sign this petition to show your support for building a dedicated volleyball facility in Aiken, SC. Together, we can help serve up a stronger, more connected community for generations to come.
