Help to Implement Mandatory Disclosure on labeling for Companies Testing on Animals

The Issue

As a loving pet owner, the fact that many companies in the United States and the United Kingdom still test on animals – including dogs – is more than simply disheartening to me. Not only do these practices continue, but they do so without any mandated disclosure to customers. My fury and sadness mount each time I purchase a product that I later learn has compromised the well-being of an animal in its manufacturing process. I demand transparency. I believe that we, the consumers, deserve to know the practices that underpin our products.

According to a study conducted by the Humane Society International, approximately 115 million animals are used in laboratory experiments worldwide each year. This figure includes our beloved dogs along with countless other critters, all subjected to seemingly endless pain. The fact that many of these procedures occur without any clear benefit to humanity, and often proceed without necessary ethical justifications, undergirds the need for change. However, the cruelty of these practices is hidden from us, the consumers. The lack of transparency renders the power of choice – whether we would support such practices with our purchases – out of our hands.

By compelling companies to disclose their animal testing practices, we encourage a culture of transparency. In turn, this supports informed consumerism and advances the need for more humane testing methods, ultimately protecting countless animals from needless harm. The path towards change begins with visibility.

So join me in demanding a world where companies must fully disclose their animal testing practices. Let us give voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. Please sign this petition today.
