Ireland has agreed to receive the E3 visas that Australians do not use every year so this issue appears to be finding some consensus.

However, there is no no update on any discussions related to American retirees to Ireland except that The Irish Times has indicated that the retiree issue is a "key component" of the overall deal.

Other Americans reportedly involved in these negotiations include Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and people at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Washington. If the bill moves to the Senate, it is reported that sponsors will include Republican Senator Orrin Hatch and Democratic Senators Chuck Schumer and Patrick Leahy.
