We, the undersigned, hereby PETITION the Mitcham Council to support the Blackwood Community Recreation Centre with a lease that reflects the valuable community service the facility provides. The Centre has been negotiating for over 5 years to obtain a Underlease for your Recreation Centre. We are almost there, but we need your help to reaffirm to the City of Mitcham Councillors the continued need for the Community Centre to remain an affordable Community Centre. We are seeking a reduction in the annual rent of $27,000 to a peppercorn rent and for the Mitcham Council to cover the full insurance cost of the building, which is a further savings of $2,000 each year.

By signing this petition you are helping us keep cost down throughout the center across canteen prices, team sport and gymnastics fees, fitness memberships and all other activities we offer. We are hoping to get 1,200 signatures, the most the council will have ever seen, to get this message across strongly. We know our incredible members will get behind us and support us!
