In 2013 you were one of over 100,000 people who joined me to stand up against China’s destruction of Lhasa. The threat to Lhasa has not gone away and Tibet groups around the world continue to help fight for justice for the Tibetan people everyday. 
As I write this the International Olympic Committee is assessing Beijing's bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics - an award that will once again give the Chinese government a sign that its despicable human rights abuses are acceptable. The current human rights situation in Tibet and China is worse today that it was before the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In fact, the 2008 Games spurred massive human rights abuses, including an increased and violent crackdown against the Tibetan people, Chinese human rights defenders and freedom advocates living under China's rule. 

 We cannot allow the Chinese government to be given another green light for its deepening repression and violence.
