Help stop court led kiddnapping—Demand transparency, accountability, and Reform
The Issue
Navigating the family court system was a journey I never expected to embark on. Like most parents feeling lost in the process that are left alone and fighting for hope. As a mother committed to staying present in my children's lives, I desired nothing more than to protect their future and one day reunite our family. Yet, I found myself lost in a labyrinth of overlapping courts, bewildering agencies, and opaque procedures that no parent is ever truly prepared for. After the court hearing, with no clear guidance on how to move forward, it was in that moment, I decided to build that roadmap…To find the missing link that could bring light to guide the path back home for other families navigating the court system. That’s when -FamilyLink- was born.. Not in a tech lab, but at my kitchen table…covered in court documents. The birth of a digital toolkit app for parents like me: people navigating family court and guardianship systems without clarity, coordination, or real-time support. It’s designed to bring order to the chaos. With FamilyLink, parents can track services, store documents, view court reports, receive notifications of upcoming court dates, and access local self-help resources for housing, legal aid, and therapy in order to promote family reunification — all in one place. It also includes secure communication features to log contact with caseworkers, attorneys, and service providers, creating the transparency and coordination the system so often lacks. Through my experience, I learned that the family court system is riddled with gaps that leave parents isolated and struggling to find the path toward identifying the goals that can help make the difference that leads them toward successful service completion. Communication failures, broken systems, and lost accountability compound the stress and confusion, pushing families further apart. In response to these challenges, Family link- aims to revolutionize how the family court system interacts with parents, providing them with a platform to track, monitor, and document their requirements toward reunification. This tool is essential for ensuring that no parent slips through and gets lost in the system due to systemic inefficiencies. It empowers parents by keeping them informed, organized, and ready to collaborate alongside their family support team. This team often includes interdisciplinary agencies and service providers that sometimes find it difficult to maintain constant updated communication. Now.. with Family Link, A call to action can help ensure accountably, document communication and transparency for all… involved in the process. This is a chance for everyone to be on the same page by connecting through the app and meeting in real time, right in front of you. A digital app to better assist parents with breaking through the barriers they face and empower the legal proceedings that follow with confidence and help create a plan of action, instead of fear. Child welfare audits have pointed to recurring problems: lack of communication between caseworkers and parents, delays in documentation, failure to follow court timelines, and limited access to support services. These aren’t small glitches. These are the reasons families break apart — and why so few are given a real path back together. An app that promotes accountability and transparency on both sides of the court system, across multiple agencies and service providers all drawn together in one place, to assist with a higher percentage rate of positive outcomes of reunification. Ultimately resulting in bringing more families back together and strengthening our communities that support them. We don’t need another report telling us the system is broken. We need tools that help families stay connected, provide reliable, real time court updates, and agencies that can communicate and coordinate with the people they support. FamilyLink- is one step toward that future. It can help families now— when it’s needed the most.. Takes the guesswork out of a solid plan, creating action that leads to measurable results and sets proper expectations within the time restrictions of the case. The next pivotal step in this mission is to gather support, promote awareness, and highlight the need for a change. Sparking a change in our system to complete the development process for this digital toolkit and help secure a meeting to discuss agencies that would consider FamilyLink as a pilot program in partnership with Department of Social Services and the Office of Court Administration. Remember… This isn’t just about my case….It’s about every mother, father, or caregiver trying to navigate the system and bring their family back home. To develop and expand —Familylink—to its full potential, this meeting will allow a chance to explore funding and partnership opportunities to create a robust platform that bridges the gap between agencies and the parents they are meant to support. Join me in advocating for a digital transformation in our family court system—one that honors the resilience and dedication of all parents facing these challenges. Sign this petition to support the development of Familylink, and help us build a system that genuinely values transparency, accountability, and most importantly, family unity. Remember… the end is only the beginning in this story.. Now is your chance to build on a better tomorrow with just…. ^^ONE CLICK…^ ^ …. Keep Rising…
