The recent report from the Conservation Review Board deemed the historic Port Hope Hospital buildings at 65 Ward St. worthy of LANDMARK status but after a recent special meeting of the Port Hope council, the decision to designate or not remains up in the air.

IF COUNCIL VOTES AGAINST DESIGNATION ON TUESDAY APRIL 2ND IT WILL BE DEMOLISHED.

JUST LIKE THE OLD POST OFFICE, THE HISTORIC HOSPITAL WILL BE GONE FOREVER, NOT EVEN A MEMORY.

NOT EVEN THE MEMORY OF THE SOLDIERS WHO RECUPERATED FROM BATTLE THERE, NOR THE MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO CARED FOR THEM.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO PORT HOPE’S LEGACY – JOIN US ON APRIL 2ND 6:30 PM IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS AND LET YOUR COUNCIL KNOW WE RESPECT OUR HERITAGE.
