The Issue

The Mormon (LDS) church located at 10675 NE 20th Street in Bellevue is up for sale and we, the community, have grave concerns regarding the potential sale of this property to a developer.

This building is architecturally significant and contributes meaningfully to the character and identity of North Bellevue neighborhood. The congregation that gathers here has consistently been a considerate and valued presence in our community, and we deeply appreciate their longstanding role as good neighbors.

Additionally, there is an eagle’s nest located just west of the building that is federally protected from disturbance. Any demolition or construction activity in the immediate area could pose a serious risk to this important natural habitat andto a species protected by federal law.

We respectfully ask that the Mormon Church reconsider the sale of this property and preserve this building as the community asset it has long been.
