The Orange County Equestrian Center, under the supervision of the Orange County Fair & Event Center Board of Directors, is currently facing a critical threat, and we need your support to safeguard its future!

By signing this petition, you are urging the Orange County Fair & Event Center Board of Directors to:

1. formally recognize that the equestrian center is a resource that is a benefit to the public
2. invest in maintenance and improvements (e.g covered arena so the facility can be used rain or shine) that will make responsible bidders able to take on role as a new operator
3. work in partnership with the community and potential operators to preserve the Equestrian Center and expand public access programming
4. actively pursue a reputable and responsible bidder

The Equestrian Center is at risk of permanent closure if a new operator is not identified by February 22, 2024, resulting in an irreplaceable loss. The repercussions of the Equestrian Center's permanent closure extend beyond its premises, affecting the entire Orange County community. This includes the displacement of 150 horses, as well as the impact on fellow equestrians, children and families, veterans, abused women, other underserved groups, non-profits, and local businesses. Each of these groups depend on the Equestrian Center for a variety of services, including public recreation and equine therapy.
