Dear All,

This is not the update I had planned. Was going to give you more from the Conference.

After the last post I was delighted to see - as usual - an animated discussion going on beneath it. I have always found the change.org set up rather clunky - and have never known whether people get a notification to the fact that I, or someone else, has responded. But ... rather than fix it ... the site has got rid of the ability for us to communicate ... 

I have been writing to them - they said late last night:

"I am very sorry about the worry caused by not seeing the group discussions on the update you posted recently due to these changes being made, we have been informed that is indeed a permanent update but our product team is already working on a new feature to replace that soon."

So - there will be a solution ... but no idea of when.

I am so sorry that this amazing group of people has had a means of communication removed - and hope that what eventually reappears will be better!

In the meantime, I am busy writing a book about nocturnal nature - called Five Nights Out - it is a short easy read looking at the worlds of hedgehogs (of course), badgers, owls, bats and moths. The book has to be delivered to the publishers a couple of days after my next book is published ... and I am delighted to find that the great champion of nature, Chris Packham, has endorsed it!!!! 

Maybe by the time it is out, you will be able to properly discuss your thoughts on here!! It is available to pre-order from all good bookshops ... but if you have no one near then there is the tax-dodging alternative!! A good alternative to them is Bookshop.org - thank you to Andrew Wright for sending me the link.

I will endeavour to calm down and write a sensible update soon!! Hope to see you on the Facebook group!!!
