HELP SAVE AN ELMHURST HISTORIC HOME - Update: Action needed
The Issue
Dear Neighbors,
It is truly sad to see so many beautiful old homes in our “historic” neighborhood being torn down and replaced without any input from our community.
Are you aware that this lovely, updated and well kept $2M property, built in 1928 is in danger of being torn down? The new property owner is requesting rezoning so that 2 lots can be combined into 1 which would allow a large new house to be built.
I am asking that we take immediate action and sign a petition to advocate for saving the older homes in our area that are in good condition including saving the old growth trees including Elms on this property that may not or even cannot be replaced.
Here some further steps you can take to help if you live in Elmhurst:
Write to or email city officials and request that they safeguard the distinctive character, history and architectural integrity of Elmhurst through historic preservation, planning and sensible growth.
Attend the next full city council meeting on Monday, July 15th at 7:30 p.m. at Elmhurst City Hall, 209 N York St.
Email us with any questions or concerns to: elmhurstpreservation@gmail.com
Spread the word to neighbors and join us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/378325878573906/
Thank you for your support!
