We wanted to give you a quick update. The council had a meeting just after Christmas and decided that New Bridge Trust could occupy the Old Hawthornes site with Thomas Ashton School. We are disappointed but the next steps are to understand the safeguarding measures that will be put in place for both Schools, who will be holding New Bridge Trust to account and we've also put in a formal complaint with the council regarding the approach they have taken to the proposal.

There will be 22 Thomas Ashton children moving into the Hawthornes site for the summer term, rising to 50 in September. These children will be no older than primary school age. There will be a separate entrance and reception created from Aldwyns. The middle shared area has been gifted to Aldwyns and there will be a brick wall in place between the two halls. We are seeking to understand what other measures will be taken, especially around start and finish times, the canteen, the stage 2 playground area and Forest School.

Thank you for your support and we will let you know more as we hear
