Price's Creek Range Light is a small, rundown lighthouse in Southport, NC. It is currently on the Lighthouse Digest's 'doomsday list' and is currently the only lighthouse from North Carolina on the list. This historic 1840s lighthouse is almost certain to become extinct if action is not taken. The issue is, the land it sits on is owned by Archer Daniel's Midland, a food processing company. They have made no effort to save this relic of history in spite of the fact they have more than enough money to do so. In fact, the company is worth around 22 billion. You may not care about lighthouses, but their place in maritime history is clear, and it's a tragedy when we lose one of these gems to time. If not for the preservation of the lighthouse, do it for the preservation of history. If ADM cannot open this lighthouse to public viewing or publicly funded restoration (which is entirely fair) they should at the very least be expected to maintain it themselves.
