Thank you to everyone who has written to Council Chief Executive Liam Hannaway requesting he revoke planning permission for JC Campbell's major residential development on the Shore Road, Rostrevor. Mr Hannaway has responded to these requests by claiming he does not "consider it expedient to revoke the planning permission". Following this reply, we would like to ask an important question: not expedient to whom?

Not expedient to the public in protecting their safety? Not expedient to the councillors who have been misled into believing there would be 91 jobs and a much needed nursing home? Not expedient to protecting Rostrevor Oakwood and a landscape that attracts thousands of tourists to the area?

Or not expedient to JC Campbell who stand to make a few million pounds from their property deal?
