A group of objectors from the local community, and beyond, met with the applicant and his legal representatives in Newry this morning, where a wide range of concerns were raised about the proposed development. Unfortunately, the applicant was not prepared to negotiate in terms of reducing the scale of the development nor provide any insight into the still unknown identity of this planning application's developer. Newry, Mourne and Down Council's Planning Committee will now assemble at 10.00 am tomorrow in the Council Chambers, Monaghan Row, Newry to vote on this planning application. Please come along and join us at, what we hope will be, the final stage of this long process as we present this petition to the Planning Committee.
