Poverty levels in Ethiopia are extremely high, with 68.7% of all Ethiopians living in poverty as of 2021 according to Human Development Reports. 

Over 86 million Ethiopians suffer from poverty.
Poverty is more common in rural areas because of less job opportunities and less resources. People of color, people with disabilities, and children
 are more likely to suffer from poverty.

Agriculture is a major source of employment in Ethiopia, but it is also a place full of poverty.

Poor infrastructure, like having no roads or markets, can make it hard for people to sell produce.
Bad weather conditions, like droughts, can impact crop growth and lead to food shortages.
Pests and diseases can also impact crop growth.
