FEDERAL MP Warren Entsch is pushing for roundtable talks on the Far North's insurance crisis as soon as possible. It comes as business leaders revealed soaring insurance costs had reached breaking point and was a "hot topic" of conversation at last week's Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland's Far North annual meeting. The Leichhardt MP said he had been campaigning on the issue for the past three years and had not given up. "I'm aware of many businesses and individuals who are being forced to either under-insure, negotiate very high excesses, or not insure at all, and it is extremely serious," he said. "In the three years I've been focusing on this issue I've had a huge amount of support from people like Linda Tuck, Margaret Shaw and Archers Body Corporate, but this is the first time that business associations have been vocal with their concerns. It's good to see." Mr Entsch said he made an election promise to get a roundtable under way. "This is still front and centre".
