Two Weeks On — Still Standing

I wanted to share an update with everyone who has supported this petition.

It has now been two weeks since I had a video call with a congressional team regarding my case. While I understand how busy these offices are and that many people need their help, I want to be honest about where things stand: I am still here, still waiting, and still trying to move forward one step at a time.

Since that call, I’ve taken the only action available to me on my side. I’ve formally initiated court proceedings to compel the release of records that continue to be withheld from me. This wasn’t a decision I made lightly — it’s emotionally exhausting, financially difficult, and something no survivor should have to do just to access the truth — but it’s the only path left open to me right now.

I’ve also been contacted by another survivor from England, Shane, who has reached out to the same congressional office but has not yet received a response. His experience reinforces that this is not an isolated issue, but part of a wider, systemic failure in how survivors are acknowledged and supported.

I know progress can be slow. I know I may not be the highest priority. But I am still here — surviving, advocating, and refusing to be silent.

To everyone who has signed, shared, commented, or sent messages of support: please know that you are the reason I keep going. Your voices matter. This petition matters. And even when the process feels painfully slow, I believe that persistence, transparency, and collective pressure can still create change.

Thank you for standing with me.
