We visit our local pet stores and see the various fish ( although mainly bettas are on display) in a CUP not even a meer 2 gallon tank.  You may have seen going into your local store some are floating, some are sinking, some aren’t moving and the worst… some are dead.. As a beta lover and advocate on saving all the sick fish in cups, I feel it is my duty to help change this. Big box stores make enough money to set up a way to put them in atleast 2.5 gallons. The recommended size for a tank for a beta to live a healthy life is 5 GALLONS!  And some of these fish are in 1.5 CUP of water for months and months until they get a new home or until they sadly expire. 

ammonia and nitrites are HIGHLY toxic to these fish. And eclectically without a heater how are they able to survive?  I have saved MANY ( 7 and it’s growing ) some are sick when they come to me and thankfully haven’t lost one yet.  

it is INHUMANE!!!  Help me make a change ! They deserve to swim they are FISH !  That’s why you notice some are dull in the cups . Due to stress that will drastically make their color dull and promote illness. 

if animal cruelty is illegal , how is this okay? It’s a living and breathing being.  Imagine being in a cage and can’t move with toxic water . We all deserve to live freely.
