This is  the only way to help this situation to be honest. its crazy how they think kindergarten and elementary kids are supposed to walk by there self to school. I don’t understand how ca is supposedly one of the richest states but doesn’t have a bus for most of the schools crazy and with hearing all of these accidents every year they still haven’t made sure most kids have access to bus.At this point it’s worth paying bus drives a full day and at least 17 an hour or more so that kids are not dying because  the school system doesn’t offer transportation. It’s better then a child dying !
they keep funding Cross guards that also basically get ran over to and the kids have to walk to school miles away from school because schools do not provide bus. It’s sad I was walking my  daughter to Elementary school and because they don’t provide bus unless you’re homeless or disabled. I just thought about how many kids have died and have seen a bus pass and probably was like I wish I could have been on that bus and then it’s to late and just like that a life is taken or there left in critical condition. Its not there fault. But year after year the Same thing happens. so I guess you guys need to put crossing guards in every neighborhood going to and from school if you don’t offer bus or have more police standby in every area.But then again they couldn’t do that right not realistically so why not get bus for the safety of the children!

Its not even safe when picking kids up because most people are coming to pick up there kids! which means hundreds of people are picking the kids up at the same time and the areas are so small for every car to fit in area  and there’s some crazy divers when your waiting in traffic when they don’t realize your waiting to pick up your children! I’ve been here for six years and it’s sad this has never been a Conversation in schools. I’ve asked schools do they provide bus?   They say only to homeless kids and disabled! that’s so sad how would you feel if your were walking and saw one of those kids getting picked up and you had to wallk  and then was struck by a car?Because you’re not homeless or disabled! It’s unfair and unsafe to do this. Innocent children who are doing the right thing by walking  to school. They  should never have to feel unsafe and should have the option to ride the bus if they need a ride and never should have to feel like they don’t matter because they’re not homeless but disabled!
some parents may not be able to pick up the kids because they may not be to afford a car. some are disabled and cannot drive due health conditions. when it’s cold and rainy kids should not have to wallk in  those conditions.Some parents don’t have a license. It may be suspended are they supposed to drive illegally to pick up the kids?some parents can not afford gas or a car. some of these same people have babies they have to take with them to wallk there kids school sometimes and maybe put in a position where they have to walk poor weather conditions rainy windy  or even hot conditions! Family should feel relief knowing that the kids will get to school safely on a bus and not ran over by a fast moving car while walking because they have no choice. If it’s  Mandatory to go to school for all children then it  should be mandatory for all students to have bus!

How is Government funding more money for street repair and police gonna help these students! when there so many walking home different ways up to 1 to 5 miles or more! It’s really sad! I love support law enforcement and teachers and California. But students deserve to be protected and safe regardless of any situation that their parents may have or they may have! They deserve to have an option of riding a school bus!
