A massive thank you to the 300 signatures we have accumulated with the online petition. We have had some interesting developments which we shall share over the coming days including initial responses to this petition. But first, we want to provide individuals with an easy way of contacting Hertford's local councillors and MP.
We are often asked what more can be done to support this petition to reject the refuse changes. One way which is touted by the local authorities is to contact the local councillors and MP directly with an individual email.
So if you are inclined and able, we have composed a generic email below that can be copied and pasted (and tweaked) to be sent to the contacts listed below.
Thank you again to everyone who has signed, shared and raised awareness to help support our cause. We appreciate your assistance!

Dear [Councillor/MP Name],
I am writing to express opposition to the proposed changes to refuse collection on Folly Island, Hertford. These changes will significantly disrupt the residents, particularly those with limited mobility, elderly residents, and families. Additionally, the proposed changes will harm the conservation area through visual pollution, accessibility and rats.
We urge you to reconsider this decision in light of our concerns and to consult more thoroughly with the community before making any final decisions. We believe there are alternative solutions that would better serve the needs of Folly Island's residents without compromising on service quality or accessibility.
We hope you will take immediate action to address this matter and stand with the residents of Folly Island.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
