Amazing start-- already over 300 people have signed the petition and volunteers have been flyering at group bike rides, BART stations, farmers markets and on the street. The city starts its budget process soon and we have 674 signers to go to hit our February goal for making streets safer. Help spread the word about directing $20M from OPD to Oakland's Department of Transportation for street safety infrastructure like bike lanes and cross walks by:

  1. Retweeting the main @RapidRevolt tweet about the petition or if your on Instagram, share the post (or make your own story!)
  2.  Texting 3 friends asking them to sign the petition-- a simple text does wonders. Here's something you can use:

"hey, Oakland needs better streets and the city has got the money to make them safer-- I signed this petition to help make that happen, you should check it out https://chng.it/m2jCzsbv"

There are lots more ways to help out! If you're interested or if you've got questions, please email me at carter@carterlavin.com.

Together we can make Oakland safer!
