Help Flight attendants! Stop the Government From Siding With Air Canada
The Issue
Let Flight Attendants Get Paid for the Work They Do. Stop the Government From Taking Air Canada’s Side
We are the 10,000 flight attendants of Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge. We are proud to serve Canadians, keep passengers safe, and represent our country around the world.
But there’s a problem. Air Canada refuses to pay us for all the hours we work. Boarding, delays, and safety checks — all the duties we must perform to keep passengers safe — go unpaid. This is exploitation, plain and simple.
Instead of standing up for workers, the Canadian government has invoked Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code, forcing us into binding arbitration. That means we lose our democratic right to strike, to negotiate, and to vote on our own contract. In other words, the government has sided with Air Canada.
This isn’t just about flight attendants. If the government can silence us, it can silence any Canadian worker. If corporations can lean on Ottawa to shut down strikes, then collective bargaining means nothing. If frontline workers aren’t respected, the entire labor movement is at risk.
We are demanding:
Withdraw Section 107 from this dispute.
Respect collective bargaining and let us vote on our contract.
Fair pay for all hours worked.
Air Canada has made record profits. Executives take bonuses while frontline workers struggle. Canadians deserve an airline and a government that treats workers with dignity.
