Team Eric is now at 22,331 and growing by the minute. When I started this petition a month ago I was hoping to get a few hundred folks to jump on board and declare a little indignation at the injustice generated by insurance carriers and their systems. At present it looks like there's people the size of a small city raising their arms in protest. This is far beyond any expectation Eric's Mom (Judy) or I would have had. Your support and care for this little boy is amazing... I just got off the phone with Judy a minute ago, I asked her if she knew how many people have voiced their support... she said no... I suggested she sit down (the last time we talked about this was ten days ago when there were 268) she was almost speechless when I told her that the number had now grown to almost 25,000. Eric heard the conversation and I heard him giggling with joy in the background. Please know that he really appreciates your willingness to stand and be counted. If he were to have the equipment he needs I could have carried on a conversation with him. Soon I hope to be able to do so and then I'll have his own words of appreciation to share with you. Judy went on to tell me that she had sent an email to the White House, just on a fluke... not really expecting much in the way of response. She got a call from someone who oversee's medicaid in the Northwestern Region of the United States. Monday I'm going to call the TRICARE main office and attempt to get the contact information for Mr. Don Nathan (He's the Chief Communications Officer) so that anybody who wishes can communicate their feelings directly him. I'd have anybody who does be respectful and considerate yet resolute. In the meantime it would be helpful if I could get as many people as possible to share the petition as widely as they can. Together we can make a difference in this little boys life and enable him to have the ability to have greater independence and to communicate just like the rest of us do.
