The Sooner it Ends, the Safer our Friends! (UPDATE)

First of all, we'd like to say a huge and warm thank you to everyone who has signed and shared our petition. It lights our hopes knowing that people care and just need to be awakened to the reality of greyhound racing. Your comments and support of this movement have been overwhelming and we couldn't be prouder of the community that we're helping build and strengthen. But change won't come easy... Recently, greyhound racing endorses have started to make more advancements on the UK industry. Talk and plans of a new greyhound racing stadium have been put forward and finalised. A new speed stadium shall be built in the English town of Swindon. And in addition, there are also plans of a new SIS greyhound racing channel will be released. We believe it is completely unacceptable that such outdated practises and still being carried out and permitted without no authoritive opposition. Currently, there haven't been enough voices to sway the situation. We must be that voice. We must make a stand against this cruelty, and this unjust excuse of a sport. It is with the help of a wide collective that we can have a bigger say on matters like these and create change. It's mind-boggling that people haven't come to their senses. It's simple. The 'sport' is cruel. Cruel to the dogs, cruel to animals - living, breathing, feeling, life. Still, these innocent pups are pointlessly slaughtered on the weekly. Beat, bruised and bumped off with no justification. Just for the sake of making money. These greyhounds have never known love. All they know is that if they race - as fast as their feet can carry - and reach the finish line first, they might avoid the beatings or killings from their owners. It's shameful. The amount of dogs killed for this industry is sick. It's been gathered that most racing Greyhounds will be dead before their 5th Birthday; 5 Greyhounds die per week while on the race track; some dogs are given drugs to improve their performance, but ultimately damaging their health; every stadium has a freezer to store the dead dogs. Rescue centres are present in areas of the UK but can only save the dogs that have been abandoned. They don't receive ANY government funding making them even more Noble and outstanding. The UK government most definitely have the power and the say to end ban greyhound racing, and to at least consider the ban. Our voices must be heard as the ones who are affected so awfully by this industry, ar dogs with no voice and no respect. The Sooner it Ends, the Safer our Friends.
