My husband, Antwone Jackson 16 years ago, as an 18 year old innocent man was convicted for a home invasion. This man has never even had the chance to experience life free as an adult. Our justice system has failed him drastically. This man was convicted off of co-defendants testimony, who all got promised deals from Virginia Beach, Commonwealth attorney to testify to help convict this man because victims could not identify this man. January 9, 2009 Antwone Jackson will turn his self in less than an hour after being notified by his mother that detectives were looking for him with nothing to hide or run from. He would then be taken to Virginia Beach city jail and only be indicted 10 felonies later, after his codependence entered, plea agreement charges would have stacked on this innocent man. There was also DNA evidence that 100% prove that this man is innocent his DNA evidence was ignored and is still unknown to this day if the person who really committed this crime, were to do anything that requires them to have to give their DNA. It would bring forth the truth that Antwone Jackson wasn’t there, when this horrible crime took place 12 years after this innocent man has spent most of his adult life behind bars for a crime that even a blind eye could see he didn’t commit if you take the time and look over the evidence after all this time, three of the coda defendants would come forward after sitting with an attorney and admit that they lied on Antwone of different personal reasons to try to save their self and give Virginia Beach Commonwealth attorney anything that they need to free their selves. Also one of the Virginia Beach juror members who voted guilty would sit down with Antwone’s family member 15 years later, and explain why she found Antwone guilty also explained how this case has never left her mind, and that Antwone‘s attorney didn’t do a good enough job, proving his innocence. If she could today after now understanding the evidence, she wishes she could change her verdict. Our heart goes out to the victims that had to go through this crime and their families, but what about this innocent man that’s been incarcerated all these years waiting for this DNA to come across Virginia data bank to prove that he is innocent help us bring this case to justice and this innocent man to freedom.
