"Help Bring Back the MLP Audio Drama Remembrance"
The Issue
Hello, I go by PurpleGirl12 and have a proposal for as much of the MLP: FiM Community as possible to gather together to finish the audio drama Remembrance by Ashley H. I'm aware of why she canceled the series due to immense harassment; I staunchly believe that any bullying or harassment of ANY kind has no place anywhere and harbor a zero tolerance policy for it. However, I also think that shutting down the project wasn't the way to handle the situation effectively. That's why I want help in managing the resolution of Remembrance.
I need a plethora of assistance from whoever is willing to participate to the end, from artists to VAs. I lack experience dealing with projects involving multiple members and often work alone. It would be greatly appreciated if this petition spread throughout social media to get the word out. Moreover, I don't have talent in making art, voice acting, or singing, but I can keep records of deadlines, progress, crew members, etc.
Lastly, I'm not going to lie; I was deeply interested in Remembrance for years. I grew weary of the delays and setbacks because, after all, I was an impatient and angsty teenager. Even so, I consider myself loosely affiliated with the MLP: FiM fanbase, not exposed to the community's toxicity, and refrained from making any comments or input to any media. Overall, I want to aid fellow MLP fans and provide closure for the story. Furthermore, I want everyone in the community to express the fullest extent of their gratitude to Ashley H for working so hard and putting up with so much for us to create this piece of art.
Here is a write-up of my vision for Remembrance's Ending:
Episode 11 Part 1: Found
The first part of episode 11 will be the final battle between Nightmare Star and Twilight Sparkle. It will start where episode 10 left off, with Twilight being caught by Nightmare Star. As she tries to escape to the chamber where her friends are buried, as Ashley H said in her unlisted video, Nightmare Star will offer Twilight a spell to go back to be with her friends and revert to when all her friends died. Twilight will refuse and run to the chamber's entrance, reminiscing and wanting to see her friends one last time, instead of enduring the endless cycle of hollow happiness and grief. Nightmare Star won't give up on obtaining Twilight's body, so she and the other nightmares pursue Twilight. Meanwhile, Princess Luna makes her way inside Canterlot Castle to confront Nightmare Star, along with Flurry Heart, Galaxy Star, and Discord. That's when Ebony Elixir runs up to them with the potion she made (from Episode 8: Aftermath). After a short greeting, Ebony discusses a plan to stop Nightmare Star and help Twilight even just a little.
Twilight arrives at the burial chamber with the resurrection spell. She musters up the courage to open the doors, knowing what lies beyond them. Twilight walks through the massive hall and stands at the center of the altar, with the bodies of her friends in front of her as stone statues. She mentally prepares herself to cast the spell with Nightmare Star close behind, but she is confronted by Luna, who ignores Nightmare Star's threat and tries to reach Celestia with her words. Luna tells her sister to fight back against the Nightmare and understands the pain, suffering, and guilt she endured, not because of her own decisions but because of the Nightmare's influence. However, Nightmare Star raves about Luna's futile effort to save Celestia and boasts that the elements can't stop her since one remains dull, as well as the low success rate of the revival spell. Galaxy, Flurry, and Discord join Luna in buying time for Twilight, unaware that the spell she would use would cut her life short. As Luna, Flurry, and Discord try to distract Nightmare Star, revising Ebony's plan, she and Galaxy prepare to use the potion.
Back to Twilight in the chamber, she stands on the mark shaped like her cutie mark and reads over the spell (the parody song of "You Will Be Found" begins here). She then begins to cast it, magical energy swirling, and the statues start to crack open. As her current magic output wasn't enough, Twilight adds more magic as she sees the spell working. Then, slightly flying, she gives one last burst of strength and causes the statues and stained-glass windows to shatter. Additionally, her wings disappear, making her a mortal unicorn again. Twilight fell to the ground, exhausted, until she saw her friends alive and well (the parody song of "You Will Be Found" ends here). Words couldn't express her happiness, and with a group hug, Rainbow Dash's cutie mark began to glow as the Element of Loyalty was finally restored. There was no time to celebrate their reunion as Nightmare Star reached the chamber after hearing the magical explosion down the hall. The opening came when Nightmare Star blasted a ray of magic at the group, and with Ebony's command, Galaxy threw the potion in a panic. In a short flashback, Ebony explains the effect of her potion as it turns into a vapor when exposed to magic. The mist explodes (the soundtrack "Eyes of Irumyuui" from Made in Abyss begins here), and Nightmare Star panics, thinking it's poison; however, she begins to see Celestia's most heartfelt memories, which include times with her parents, Luna, Twilight, and even at Cadance and Shining Armor's wedding. Nightmare Star starts to cry, and her eyes resemble those of Celestia's, not understanding what's happening, a sign that Celestia was still there. Nightmare Star becomes paralyzed with the flood of emotions as Luna firmly explains to her that the Nightmares are truly weak since they depend on a host. Equestria will be victorious in this battle (the soundtrack "Eyes of Irumyuui" from Made in Abyss ends here). Nightmare Star cackles as Pesadilla, Kozmar, and Malson crassly check on her condition. Nightmare would command them and the rest of the army to gather for one showdown to end the farce once and for all.
Twilight teleports herself and her friends to a further part of the castle to escape Nightmare Star and find the elements. They eventually find them in the throne room encased within Nightmare Star's throne. She retrieves them as Nightmare Star enters the room, frustrated, with her army of nightmares (including Pesadilla, Kozmar, and Malson) behind her, ready to strike the Mane 6 down. With the elements in their possession, Twilight shouts out to Celestia, letting her know that she is mortal now and that she should not dwell on her past mistakes. Luna and the others join in by shouting out to Celestia as well, saying that everything will be alright and not to give up. As a sign that she hears their words, Celestia sees a dot of light within the darkness of her mind and reaches out to touch it; in response, she temporarily reclaims herself, a good sign to Twilight and everypony else. (the parody song of "Can't I Even Dream" begins here) From within the darkness of her mind, Celestia laments her choices, regrets, and sorrow (with Mariett instigating her emotional wounds). Mariett silences Celestia and traps her further into the darkness (the parody song of "Can't I Even Dream" ends here). Soon, the effects wore off, but it provided precious time for Twilight to battle Nightmare Star.
The final clash between Twilight Sparkle and Nightmare Star begins with Twilight speaking about her journey back in time, where she rediscovers the Elements of Harmony and the true meaning of friendship (mentioning Laughter, Generosity, Kindness, Honesty). Also, she explains how she is nothing without her friends, but she will never forget the grief and pain of losing them over time, as those feelings were important in her path of rediscovery. Ultimately, ends her speech by remarking on the difficult but crucial decision of Loyalty to her friends by using the revival spell to save Equestria (the parody song of "Meteor" begins here). Touched by her words, her friends gave her words of gratitude and empathy for her suffering as they passed away, and for reviving them to see them one last time. Completely over the sentimental scene, Nightmare Star and the other nightmares prepare to strike a deadly blow to the Mane 6. However, as they strike, Twilight activates the elements, and a long beam of struggle ensues, with Twilight eventually overwhelming the nightmares and destroying them forever, sending a rainbow aura across Equestria (the parody song of "Meteor" ends here). As they disintegrate, the nightmares rant and argue among themselves about failing to conquer Equestria again, and the Nightmare speaks with Luna once more before disappearing for good. It explains why it wanted to take over Equestria: the lack of "equality" toward its kind. Luna acknowledges this as a reminder, while the Nightmare gives the princess her name, Mariett, saying that nightmares all have names like any other creatures. Celestia would slowly wake up to find herself in a room surrounded by everypony. The stolen magic, their wings, and horns are returned, except for Cadance's. Once she realizes what happened, she sobs into Luna's embrace while apologizing for all the pain she caused, then the first part ends.
Episode 11 Part 2: Found
The second part was only briefly explained by Ashley H, but I have an idea for how to end the series, should it come full circle. The episode begins with everyone happy that the nightmares are finally defeated, but Equestia is in dire straits and needs to be reconstructed. Luna explains that under the five months of Nightmare Star's rule, the land required at least three years of healing to bounce back from such cruelty. Twilight recalled Zillia's warning about the spell giving three years of life to the caster and those affected by the spell. Twilight takes a deep breath to get everypony's attention and explains the spell she used on her friends and its effects. Afterward, everypony was shocked that the Princess of Friendship and her friends only had three years left to live, wondering how they would keep Equestia safe after they were gone. Twilight processes a few ideas to make sure Equestria is protected.
Year 1:
Canterlot and the rest of Equestria needed restoration, so Celestia and Luna regained their duties of controlling the Sun and Moon. The land required time to recover, and the weather was utilized to help heal the entire country within a year. Discord and Fluttershy went to fulfill the promise they made on that hill so long ago to create a vast animal sanctuary for creatures that have nowhere else to go, which also serves as a memento to Discord after Fluttershy leaves in the next two years. While the rest of the Mane 6 took part in rebuilding Equestria, reestablishing their callings in Ponyville, and repairing diplomatic relations with neighboring kingdoms greatly affected by Nightmare Star's five-month rule. Flurry returned to the Crystal Empire to bury Cadance alongside Shining Armor with a big funeral in her honor. After the ceremony, Celestia tries to apologize for everything. Still, Flurry reassures her that her mother understands Celestia's feelings and that Cadance never truly held a grudge against her. Moreover, Flurry continues saying that her mother only acted cold out of cowardice in facing Celestia after Shining Armor's death. Upon hearing this, Celestia tears up in relief that Cadance can now rest in peace and is finally together with Shining in the afterlife. A week later, Flurry ascended as the new ruler of the Crystal Empire in a coronation ceremony and aided Equestria in the healing process. At the same time, she still had a remade music box, Twilight fixed per Candace's request, in her bedroom to remind her of her parents' love for her. Still unsure of what to do with herself, Galaxy Star remains by Twilight's side as her student, but she has a different goal in mind for her student.
Year 2:
Twilight returns to Ponyville with her friends in her Castle of Friendship and reactivates the crystal map. Throughout the year, she, her friends, and Galaxy Star are called to various parts of Equestria to solve friendship problems, especially after Nightmare Star's regime. Galaxy studies continuously in the library like her predecessor pupil, Starlight Glimmer, as she also moved into Twilight's castle to study under her. Simultaneously, Twilight decides to establish the School of Friendship, which is open to any creature willing to learn about the magic of friendship. After overcoming numerous obstacles, the school was finally approved and opened. It is very successful, and despite no longer being a "princess," Twilight displayed her traits as the Princess of Friendship with flying colors. Celestia and Luna would visit as often as possible to check in on Twilight and Galaxy, and discuss their plans for when Twilight and her friends would leave the following year. The school serves as a beacon, spreading the magic of friendship not only to ponykind but to all sorts of creatures so that the same mistakes won't be made, like with the nightmares.
Final Year:
In the last year of their lives, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash spend quality time together to make up for the time they lost. They go on daring adventures, hang out together, and even reconnect with Spike. Counting down the days, the six ponies settled their affairs and said their final goodbyes. Twilight visited Zillia's hut to apologize for not taking her advice seriously at first and thank her for helping her save Equestria and herself. For some reason, Zillia starts to speak in rhymes like her mother, Zecora, leaving Twilight amused and slightly confused. As the final act as the Princess of Friendship, Twilight passes the Headmare of the School of Friendship position to Galaxy Star as her successor in spreading the magic of friendship throughout their world. With tears in her eyes, Galaxy graciously accepts as she finally finds her purpose in the universe. With that, the Mane 6 pass away one by one, with Twilight being the last to go, confident that her other friends will keep Equestria safe and prosperous (the song parody of "From Y to Y" begins here). Many years have passed during which Galaxy Star upholds her duty as Headmare and contributes greatly to her mentor's legacy. On the anniversary of their triumph over the nightmare, an aged Galaxy visits the graves of the Mane 6 with flowers in her hooves. She is joined by Flurry, Celestia, Luna, and Discord, who also want to visit the graves. They all reflect on how the Mane 6 changed the world and themselves and vow to keep their memory alive, not dwell on past mistakes, and keep moving forward. The episode ends with a display of a massive sight deep in the Everfree Forest near the Tree of Harmony. There are six individual graves in the shape of small trees, beautifully adorned with jewels, and the images of each Mane 6 are on one of the trees. The flowers that adorn each grave add the perfect touch to the site, and with that, the story ends (the song parody of "From Y to Y" ends here).
Extra Notes:
I aim to make this final episode into a movie-length finale by merging both parts into one. In addition, I want to add songs to specific scenes in these two episodes, so I need help with song composition, lyrics, and music. First, for the revival scene, I think "You Will Be Found" from the musical Dear Evan Hansen will be a good match, and the song should focus mainly on Twilight and Rainbow Dash with Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie singing in the background as they are revived. Also, the song includes parts for Luna, Flurry, Galaxy, Discord, and the reformed ponies outside. The scene where Nightmare Star is hit with the potion and triggers Celestia's memories should have the soundtrack "Eyes of Irumyuui" from Made in Abyss. When Celestia regains some control, she laments in a song parody of "Can't I Even Dream" by Fumii featuring Hatsune Miku, a duet between her and Mariett. Another song to use is "Meteor" by John ft. Hatsune Miku for the final battle between the Mane 6 and Nightmare Star. Please let me know of any other suggestions for musicals and/or songs for these remaining episodes. Finally, I want the ending song to be a parody of the Vocaloid song "From Y to Y" by JimmyThumb-P ft. Hatsune Miku, starring Galaxy Star, while Twilight sings the backup vocals. Please let me know of any other suggestions for musicals and/or songs for these remaining episodes.
