The Issue

This is more than a petition—this is a battle cry. A demand for truth. A refusal to let injustice win.

We are calling for the immediate review and overturning of the unjust conviction of Christopher Clay, who is currently serving a 49-year and 6-month sentence, with 5 years suspended, for a conspiracy charge tied to a robbery that he had absolutely nothing to do with.

Let’s get one thing clear: Christopher Clay is innocent. There is no physical evidence tying him to the crime. There is no weapon that was ever found on him. He did not resist arrest, and yet the arresting officers lied—fabricating a story that Christopher had a weapon and posed a threat. These lies directly influenced the outcome of his trial and ultimately destroyed his life.

When all the real evidence is laid out—what little there is—it will be undeniable: Christopher did nothing wrong. He is being punished for something he didn’t do, while the very officers who twisted the truth to fit a narrative continue to walk free with no accountability.

This is corruption in plain sight.

And it gets worse. Christopher isn’t the only one. Another man charged in this same case had his wrongful conviction overturned in 2016—because the system finally acknowledged its mistake. So why is Christopher still locked away? Why hasn’t his truth been heard? Why does he remain behind bars for a crime he did not commit?

Because in this system, lies from officers are protected. Because their badges give them the power to create false narratives, plant evidence, and steal lives—and they face no consequences for it. They lie to close cases, to earn promotions, to uphold their image—even if it costs an innocent man his freedom.

We are sick of it.

Christopher has already lost nearly 11 years of his life. During that time, he’s lost his mother and his brother—grieving behind bars with no comfort, no justice, and no way to say goodbye. And still, he has risen with strength and purpose, becoming a culinary artist and auto mechanic, using every day behind bars to grow and heal.

But he should not have had to.

He never should’ve been in that cell to begin with.

This is a man who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is a son, brother, cousin, and community member—someone deeply loved and sorely missed. His continued incarceration is not only unjust—it is inhumane.

According to the NAACP, over 2 million people are incarcerated each year, and too many of those are victims of false accusations, systemic racism, and fabricated evidence—just like Christopher. This is not about justice. This is about power, lies, and the unchecked authority of those who are supposed to serve and protect.

We demand action.

We demand that Christopher’s case be reopened.

We demand accountability for the officers who lied.

And we demand that Christopher Clay be brought home.

If you believe in justice… if you believe in truth… if you are tired of watching innocent lives destroyed by a corrupt system… then this is your fight too.

Sign this petition. Share it. Speak up.

Every voice matters. Every signature gets him closer to freedom.

Christopher Clay deserves to come home. And we won’t stop fighting until he does.
