No words can convey how deeply disturbing and unsettling it is to see yet another story in the media about another hedgehog subjected to intentional and premeditated harm https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/24198833.hedgehog-dies-set-fire-westhoughton/

I haven't seen any coverage about this horrific wildlife crime anywhere else in the media but another story had oodles of headlines around the world https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/hedgehog-hat-bobble-woman-mistake-rescue-b2518848.html Says it all really.

A third story also caught my attention but only because I have a Google alert set for keyword 'hedgehog'...two hedgehogs wandered on to an Oxfordshire building site and became covered in cement! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-68673144 

We all know hedgehogs need greater protection from us...whether it is protection from intentional or reckless killing, destruction of habitat or wildlife unfriendly development practices.

Let's get an iconic species in serious decline the help they need now...don't let this government kick hedgehogs into the long grass.
