We put out food and water for hedgehogs year round just in case one awakes from hibernation but in 5 years living here we never had one show up in January ! Bravehog has been visiting us most nights for the last 4 weeks, kipping in our hog house, drinking from our pond & numerous water bowls and eating her way through kilos of hog chow.

We're not certain if she was disturbed by building works just down the street or flooded out of her hibernaculum by the heavy rains we've been having this winter: either way human behaviour is having a devastating impact.

My other petition  https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/643081 to the UK government closes in less than 3 weeks but has struggled to get anywhere near the 100,000 signatures needed for a parliamentary debate. I'm hoping folks will check out the link above and give that petition a huge boost before time runs out.
