Autumn is a tough time of year for hedgehogs…fireworks, bonfires, lack of food, road traffic are making life very difficult. A baby hedgehog has somehow found us and has been building a hibernaculum in one of our hog houses. This morning s/he has decided to stay over. Paws crossed our garden will provide a safe place for this autumn hoglet to hibernate.

I’m absolutely over the moon that 162,000 fabulous folks have signed this petition. Meanwhile my other petition https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/643081 has been waiting 21 days for a government response but I’m not surprised. Wildlife and the environment appears very low on the list of government priorities. If we can get that petition to 100,000 signatures we would see a parliamentary debate. I should add, neither petition is getting support from wildlife conservation organisations and that deafening silence puzzles me. If you share my concern, please let the relevant parties know how you feel then we will find out who talks the talk and walks the walk.
