Thank you to all that shared and signed this petition. We reached the 6000 mark then the 7500 mark today. Our next target is 10,000 signatures. Our health minister can not ignore our joined voices. We have to stress to him how important this scan is for all women and babies. Reading through some of the comments I have seen stories of babies that are alive and well today because the scan picked up an anomaly that could be treated but I have read far too many stories from women who were not offered this scan and their babies never had the chance to fight their condition. UHG were the only Galway hospital to offer this scan routinely but in the last week they have announced that this will be scaled back. Babies born in Dublin will have lots of resources available if they need help and they will have already had the anomaly scan yet babies born outside Dublin, only 38% have had access to the anomaly scan so if there is a problem it takes alot longer for them to receive proper treatment if they haven't got the anomaly scan. With the announcement for UHG recently this number will be less . All women and babies should be entitled to the same care and the same chance no matter where they live. Please keep sharing. I want all your sisters, mothers, daughter's, aunties, friends and any other women to be confident they are receiving the best antenatal care and that they are not being treated differently due to geographical location xx
