
HDFC customers are entitled to seek concrete answers and clarifications. HDFC must provide final decision regarding “the requirement of SSN in Extended KYC & valid alternative for SSN” in writing which they must support through physical copies of the RBI circular and HDFC KYC Norms for NRIs where the word “SSN” is hi-lighted in the circular. Based on that, customers can make a decision to stay with the bank or leave the bank.
HDFC never gives clear written responses or decisions in writing concerning cases . Most times , the cases are not addressed effectively or closed without resolutions.
Also ,HDFC keeps assigning various reference numbers to one case but with no defined resolution so that the customer tires out. You will find the same feedback from other customers on their social media page particularly regarding Re KYC process for Resident or NRI banking. A simple updating of number or address change is complicated unnecessarily by HDFC .
In my case too, the resolution keeps getting delayed and every time a new reference number is assigned to the issue/request I raised. This has been going on for a very long time. There’s no ownership of decision ! I would like HDFC to spell out their version of interpretation of the general Re-KYC circular given to all financial institutions by RBI.
