I heard back from Highways with regards to the concerns that we raised to them about the poor conditions of Cherry Tree Lane. Before the petition Cherry Tree Lane was the 104th priority in the selection process to be potentially looked at.

Since we shared the petition with the Council and Councillor Williamson efforts during the General Council meet our concerns have now been escalated within the Council. This means that it is now intended to propose carriageway renewal for Cherry Tree Lane to be undertaken sometime after April 2021. This still will be subject to acceptance of the Executive Decision once it is produced. This is good news!!

In the meantime Cherry Tree Lane will be inspected on a regular basis for safety defects in line with the current safety inspection regime and any actionable defects will be rectified.
