I spent my childhood engrossed in the magic that Universal and DreamWorks gifted us with: Shrek and Jurassic Park 3. With beloved characters such as Shrek and the Spinosaurus at their center, these iconic movies left a lasting impression. Now, with Universal announcing the return of Spinosaurus in Jurassic World Rebirth and DreamWorks changing Shrek's design in the upcoming Shrek 5, I, along with countless other fans, am left feeling a disheartened. 

The redesigned Spinosaurus seems to lack the dangerous charm of the original, while Shrek's altered appearance does not capture the ogre we grew to love. We've seen a precedent for this in the Sonic series. To the Sonic team's credit, they listened to their fanbase and revised Sonic's controversial design.

 

I sincerely believe that the supporters of Shrek and Spinosaurus have the same power to inspire change. This is about honoring these characters' original design that brought joy to millions across the globe. We plead with Universal & DreamWorks to stay true to their franchises. Listening to their fans' voices propagates not only business wisdom but also deep respect for their audience's emotional connection to their films.
