Each huge snow fall we the residents spent hours clearing our driveways only to have the city plows come though and leave huge, hard, compact snow at the end of our driveways. These compact snow piles can not be driven over by most cars and for those that can drive over them they are doing it at risk of damaging the underneath of their cars. 

For example, yesterdays storm brought 20+ cm of snow everyone was out clearing it the night before only to wake up the next morning to a mountain of hard snow.  Some people had to call taxi’s to come get them as they had important work meetings to get to or interviews or kids to drop off. Some missed these important activities, kids were kept home (not like we can afford our kids staying home after missing so much school due to COVID). 

I ask, actually would like to challange, the City of Markham to provide the same services that other York and Toronto cities provide by clearing the snow from the bottom of our driveways. We pay the same taxes if not more as other York cities yet we don’t get the same services. All that happens is our taxes go up while the our services remain the same. 

I’m hoping to get enough signatures so we can send a message to City of Markham to help us, the community.
