Elementary-aged girls have to go home with periods, especially as they are growing up (usually around 4th or 5th grade, but could be younger,) without any products at their school that is accessible, usable, etc. Pads and tampons are usually being damaged by reckless and troublesome people, making them less and less accessible to girls who need them, especially for students who are in low-income families, and either can barely or cannot afford these products for their children. Right now, only 28 out of 50 states require or fund these products for their female students. For the other 22 states that aren't requiring/funding for these period products, I think they should have to provide pads, tampons, or other products for students who need them. We need to act now, because otherwise more students will not be able to access these products, and people will either have to use things that aren't meant for periods, or not have them at all, which is not good.
