Dear Supporters,

Just to update you with the latest on the situation.

The bad news is the council rejected our request to overturn the ban as soon as possible, despite us getting 2000+ more signatures than are required for them to debate it.

We presented a strong case in the five minutes allocated to us. Sadly the majority of the councillors who did respond did not acknowledge our well considered arguments and did not respond to our request for working together to find a mutually agreed solution. Instead they used it as a chance to point the finger at the minority who have abused the site.

Its not all bad news though. Sandy Hopkins the chief exec and James Hassett the Director for place shaping and planning met with us after the meeting to assure us that our community of campervanners and motorhomers will be listened to and consulted with and we will have a place on West Beach, hopefully organised well before the 18 month experimental order is up.

If you want to keep in the loop about what is going on, our busy Facebook group is here:

and If you haven't already done so, please make your feelings known about the 18 month experimental order here:

You can do so until the 19th February 2019 and you need to comment on Traffic Regulation Order AS/TRO/375
