If you stupidly decide to leave a club of Nations, why would you expect that club to let you have most of its facilities for free? You then appoint the person who lied to get you out of the club as Foreign Minister, instead of putting him in jail. Now he says, according to the Guardian of today, that the EU should “get on” with beginning “serious” Brexit negotiations on trade, adding: “It’s ready for the great ship to go down the slipway and on to the open sea and for us to start some serious conversations about the future and the new relationship.” The same article reports, as we have often done in these pages, that a no-deal Brexit will leave poorer Britons up to GBP500 worse off...in fact that is only based on trade tariff changes...not the loss of financial services, the increase in defence budget, the lack of skilled labour, the loss of cheap flights, the increase in visa fees to visit Europe, the increased vulnerability to war, the potential loss of Northern Ireland and Scotland etc etc. Do pass on this petition since every sane person's vote counts!
