Please make more classic figures for the retro Spider-Man toyline
The Issue
In the summer of 2020, Hasbro released an all-new retro/vintage Spider-Man toyline for their Marvel Legends toyline based on the classic Spider-Man comic books. Six figures were released for Peter Parker, Spider-Man, Electro, the Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy with an alternate head of Mary Jane Watson, and Daredevil in his black armored costume from the 1990s. Several more Retro figures have been released as Fan Channel exclusives, such as the Kingpin, Mysterio, Spider-Man 2099 and Sandman. In January 2022, a second wave of Retro Spider-Man figures will be released consisting of Ben Reilly Spider-Man, Symbiote Spider-Man, Web Armor Spider-Man, Hammerhead, Hobgoblin from "Spider-Man: The Animated Series", and the Shocker. However, no new figures of female characters, civilian characters, and allies have been announced for the Retro Spider-Man wave.
On The Fwoosh website's message boards, in a thread that asked fans for their Top 10 Spider-Man characters that they would like Hasbro to make into action figures, civilian characters like Aunt May Parker, Flash Thompson and Felicia Hardy in her "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" clothes all received several votes each. Classic versions of Spider-Man's villains like the Chameleon, Doctor Octopus (either in his 1990s animated series suit, his white Armani suit, or an update of the green-and-orange classic costume, with bendable wire tentacles specifically mentioned for Doc Ock figures in most votes for all three versions), Kraven the Hunter, the Rhino, Tarantula, the Spot, Boomerang in his purple-and-blue costume, and Carrion all are characters fans would love to see made into figures as well. Fans also hope to see the classic Spider-Man figure re-released or re-made with a new Peter Parker alternate civilian head and alternate open wall-crawling posed hands, as many fans who wanted to buy the figure were unable to and would like a second chance to buy it.
We hope that Hasbro will consider continuing the retro/vintage Spider-Man toyline with a third wave and more fan channel figures, and to make more classic figures of heroes, villains, civilians and alternate Spider-Man costumes that fans know and love.
