We all know the plastic menace and government bodies putting ban on use or purchase is of no use till the time there is supply. There definitely will be economic consequences but saving our planet is more important. Government needs to think on this and plan alternatives and solutions with immediate effect.
Solution
We already do have innovations where people have made plastic alike material from natural stuff. Government needs to back it and switch the current manufactureres to make these.
