We the undersigned, residents of the London Borough of Harrow, call upon Harrow Council to consult with the residents of West Harrow, to design and implement a Low Traffic Neighbourhood in West Harrow (the area bounded by Pinner Road, Imperial Drive, Bessborough Road and Whitmore Road). 

Our objective is to create a pleasant and safe environment by removing through motor traffic. We call upon the council to close minor roads to motor vehicles at key points to prevent them being used as shortcuts, while allowing access to properties. This will not impede deliveries or emergency services, and there are many examples of such schemes in Harrow and elsewhere in Greater London.

This will allow people to travel safely on foot, by cycle (including e-bikes and adapted cycles), scooter, mobility scooter, wheelchair and pushchair/pram. More physical activity and less pollution will help prevent diseases such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease and lung conditions, improving all residents' quality of life.

It will protect the health and safety of children attending Vaughan School, and encourage more children to walk or cycle to school.
