Dear Public,

As you know, my name is Joshua Adusei aI'm a former PE teacher at Harris academy Tottenham. I was unfairly dismissed due to a petition I started which was aimed to highlight racial discrimination within my former school.

In September, due to the drastic changes within the leadership teams, a new zero-tolerance policy and staff restructuring program was introduced which disproportionally affected BAME students and staff. This restructuring included over 50 members of staff (including maternal teachers, and a significant proportion of black, afro Caribbean individuals) being made redundant. During this time, students were constantly neglected, isolated (as forms of discipline) and treated like inmates, losing invaluable education time and further impacting their mental health.

Initially, the goal was to get at least 500 signatures in hope of some sort of change, this has now reached over 6,000 signatures in support of bettering the mental wellbeing of students and staff which i'm so grateful for.

I wished that this petition would bring immediate change but regardless of the amount of articles that have been published there seems to be no care in the world. This is why we want to make an honest difference by supporting from the outside in. The trauma faced as a young black person whilst navigating, school, work and media stereotypes needs to change.

In order to make this plan come to life, we are hoping to raise £100,000 to start this charity centre which will be based in the heart of Tottenham.

Myself, alongside some passionate people are taking the step in building a support centre (charity)  that will cater to:

-Counselling sessions: aimed to support traumatised and troubled backgrounds
- After school tutoring (including access to work rooms for core subjects -Math, English, Science.)
-Extra curricular education for bespoke subjects (coding, finance, black history etc.)
- Apprenticeships
- Access to recording studios (opportunities to learn production, sound engineering, song writing and DJ skills etc)
- Open work spaces
- Kitchen spaces to allow for culinary and hospitality.

We hope you can support to make this a reality.

Your Sincerely,

Joshua Adusei
