Friends of the Parkland Walk
Mar 29, 2016
Here we go again. All hands on deck! Your support was key to the developer withdrawing the Construction Management Plan last year which would have meant 26 ton lorries using the Parkland Walk. A new CMP has now been submitted (HGY/2016/0666) and because it is new, any objections have to be made again. This new plan is barely different to the last one. The 26 ton lorries are to be replaced with large skip lorries. The period of works is now extended to 62 Weeks and risks to users of the Walk are as high, if not higher than before. It is absolutely vital that we keep up the momentum on this and try to submit as many objections to the Haringey Planning Portal as we did last year (over 300). Don't let one greedy individual who stands to make a packet at the expense of the thousands of people who use the Walk get away with riding rough shod over rules and protections that are there to protect the Nature Reserve and those who use it. This petition is still of value, but it is objections to the planning department that are really needed right now. The link provided gives more information on the new CMP, the detailed objection submitted by The Friends of the Parkland Walk, links to the Haringey Planning web page and a copy of an objection letter from the former Haringey Conservation Officer David Bevan. Please take just a few minutes to lodge an objection. Objections should be in by the 5th of April, so there is no time to delay! There may be time after the 5th to submit further objections, so do please also let your friends know about this so they can help too. http://www.parkland-walk.org.uk/planning.html
